  Exporting
=========

Exporting lets users download current table data in one of the enabled formats.

1. Enable Exports and Formats
-----------------------------

Use enableExports and exportFormats on your datatable class.

 Datatable properties PHP     `public bool $enableExports = true;public array $exportFormats = ['csv', 'xlsx', 'pdf'];public array $exportFormatLabels = [    'csv' => __('Download CSV'),    'xlsx' => __('Download Excel'),    'pdf' => __('Download PDF'),];` 

 ```
public bool $enableExports = true;
public array $exportFormats = ['csv', 'xlsx', 'pdf'];
public array $exportFormatLabels = [
    'csv' => __('Download CSV'),
    'xlsx' => __('Download Excel'),
    'pdf' => __('Download PDF'),
];
```

2. How Export Is Triggered
--------------------------

The settings dropdown renders one action per value in exportFormats. Clicking an item calls export($format).

 Theme trigger relationship BLADE     `@foreach($exportFormats as $format)            {{ $this->getExportFormatLabel($format) }}    @endforeach` 

 ```
@foreach($exportFormats as $format)

        {{ $this->getExportFormatLabel($format) }}

@endforeach
```

3. Validation Flow in export()
------------------------------

export() runs only when enableExports is true and the requested format exists in exportFormats. Invalid or disabled requests return null.

 Datatable::export() checks PHP     `if (!$this->enableExports) {    return null;}$format = strtolower($format);if (!in_array($format, $this->exportFormats, true)) {    return null;}` 

 ```
if (!$this->enableExports) {
    return null;
}

$format = strtolower($format);

if (!in_array($format, $this->exportFormats, true)) {
    return null;
}
```

4. Selection-Aware Exports
--------------------------

When row selection is enabled and selected rows exist, export output is scoped to selected rows.

 Optional selection settings PHP     `public bool $enableRowSelection = true;public bool $persistSelectedRows = true;` 

 ```
public bool $enableRowSelection = true;
public bool $persistSelectedRows = true;
```

5. Custom Exporters
-------------------

For non-built-in formats (for example JSON), register a custom exporter and include that format in exportFormats.

Keep exportFormats restricted to explicitly supported formats and re-check user authorization before serving exported data.
