Cell Renderer
=============

Renderers produce final cell output (typically HTML). Use them when formatted text alone is not enough.

Renderer \_\_invoke Parameters
------------------------------

Every renderer implements \_\_invoke($value, $row).

Parameter meaning

TEXT

     `$value: current column value after prepare/format stages.$row: full row payload (array/object), useful for IDs or related values.`

```
$value: current column value after prepare/format stages.
$row: full row payload (array/object), useful for IDs or related values.
```

Use a renderer when you need HTML output, links, icons, badges, buttons, or conditional markup. For plain text transformations, prefer a formatter to keep rendering simpler.

Implement RendererInterface
---------------------------

Create project renderers outside vendor so package upgrades remain clean.

app/Support/Datatable/Renderers/StatusPill.php

PHP

     `namespace App\Support\Datatable\Renderers;use MorrowIt\LaravelDatatable\Contracts\RendererInterface;class StatusPill implements RendererInterface{    public function __invoke($value, $row)    {        $text = (string) $value;        $id = data_get($row, 'id');        return '' . e($text) . '';    }}`

```
namespace App\Support\Datatable\Renderers;
use MorrowIt\LaravelDatatable\Contracts\RendererInterface;
class StatusPill implements RendererInterface
{
    public function __invoke($value, $row)
    {
        $text = (string) $value;
        $id = data_get($row, 'id');
        return '' . e($text) . '';
    }
}
```

Always escape user-controlled values (for example with e()) before returning HTML to avoid XSS vulnerabilities.

Attach Renderer to a Column
---------------------------

Use Column::renderer() with package or custom renderers.

columns()

PHP

     `Column::make('status', __('Status'))    ->renderer(new \App\Support\Datatable\Renderers\StatusPill());Column::make('actions', __('Actions'))    ->renderer(new \MorrowIt\LaravelDatatable\Renderers\ActionButtons());`

```
Column::make('status', __('Status'))
    ->renderer(new \App\Support\Datatable\Renderers\StatusPill());
Column::make('actions', __('Actions'))
    ->renderer(new \MorrowIt\LaravelDatatable\Renderers\ActionButtons());
```

Anonymous Renderers
-------------------

Of course you don't have to create a custom renderer class for every trivial modification, simply use an anonymous function that has the same signature as RendererInterface::\_\_invoke(\\$value, \\$row). This is useful for small tweaks or one-off renderers.

Anonymous renderer

PHP

     `Column::make('status', __('Status'))    ->renderer(function($value, $row) {        return '' . e((string) $value) . '';    });`

```
Column::make('status', __('Status'))
    ->renderer(function($value, $row) {
        return '' . e((string) $value) . '';
    });
```

See Cell Renderer section to see what built-in renderers are available.

For practical combinations, compare with formatter examples in Value Formatter and pair them when needed (for example FriendlyTimestamp formatter + renderer).
